G.& G.V.Kadiwala and M.V.Bunki Sarvajanik High School was established on 11th June 1945.It was establish by Diwanbahdur Shree C.M.Gandhi. Mr Gordhanbhai kadiwala and Gandabhai has paid Rupees Eighteen Thousand and given 2000 yard land by inspiration of Manharlal Gordhanandas Kadiwala .The school was formally started in Sagrampura Kabir Mandir on 11/06/1945,which was inaugurated by president of surat municipal corporation Dr C.J.Ghiya the sarvajanik Education society has decided to construct a new building at “Dahelvi Road” which is now known as J.P.Road Sagrampura on the land donated by shree Gandabhai Gordhanbhai Kadiwala. The construction of the new building was completed at the year 1960.the opening of the new building was done by Shree C.D. Deshmukh,chair main of University grant commission and the school had given a new name G.& G.V.Kadiwala and M.V.Bunki Sarvajanik High School.There after in the year 1962 a new class of standard eleven was started and there by the school became the complete one .In 1970 was celebrated as silver jubilee year and 1994 -1995 school were started computer classes. In our school students are coming from various locality of surat city like Sagrampura,Salabatpura,Navsaribazar,Rudarpura,Majuragate,Pandesara,Althan,Bhathena,Mandarwaja,Udhana Etc. Our school pusses a library, computer class, a Laboratory, big play ground, E-Learning classes and Audio Visual equipment. Our school have well qualified Educational staff. Since 1926 Sarvajanik Education Society has founded Haripura Sarvajanik High School, Surat named “V. T. Choksi Haripura Sarvajanik High School, Primary Unit” Established : 1-st June 1926. With the Combined efforts of Late Shree Nathubhai Narandas Jariwala &Late Di. Ba-Chunilal Maneklal Gandhi, The Haripura Middle School was commenced in Sheth Shree Chunawala's residence of Rampura on 01-09-1926. The school was started with only 22 students. In 1927, the school was named as Haripura Sarvajanik Middle School. The school had 156 students in 1927. Shree Dahyabhai Shah was the first Head Master. In 1928 the school was shifted in the Building of Leuva Patidar Panch. Shree Mohanlal Bhukhandas Modi was appointed as the head master in 1931.He served for 30 Years. Shree Modi was so serviceable, generous and diligent in his duty that the school was known as "Modisaheb's school" during his tenure.The First Metric Class was started in 1939-40 and the school became Full-fleged high school In 1948, various subjects and new syllabus pattern started. The Exam Board came into existence so the school-ending exam was removed.As per the Mumbai Government Commercial High school Plan, two commer-cial classes were begun in 1950 for the first time. The Sarvajanik Education Society purchased a new building and it was named as " Commerce Building" of the school. Smt. R. S. M. Poonawala Sarvajanik Education School Foundation 1st June 1981. Principal Dr. Dhirubhai V. Desai 's dream of starting Experimental school in the campus of the B.Ed. college was materialized when his idea was accepted by the standing Committee of Sarvajanik Education Society in the Year 1980. During that period four enthusiastic members [ Shree Sunilbhai Modi, Shree Dilipbhai Marfatia, Shree Jayvadan Jariwala and Shree Rameshbhai Pachhigar] of Sarvajanik Education Society got a big plot of 12578 sq.mt. from the Municipal Corporation and it was decided to start the Experimental school on the same plot. During that time Shree Virendra Gandhi was advisory lawyer of Corporation. So he also played very important role to get this plot. The great donor Shree Sitaram Madhavji Poonawala donated Rs. 2 lakh in the memory of his wife. So from June 1981 the decision was taken to start the School by the name Smt. Rukshmaniben Sitaram Madhavaji Poonawala Sarvajanik Experimental School. 11 Classes with 500 students were begun in two shifts at the principal's bungalow in the MTB Arts college. Dr. Dhirubhai Desai, Principal of B.Ed. college then took great care and paid in the development and progress of the school. So far the economic condition of school was not so favourable. So one charity show organized to collect the donation. Dr. Dhirubhai Desai, professors, Students, teachers, non-teaching staff and parents, they all helped a lot to collect the donation for school. This also helped to overcome the primary difficulties of the school. The school had run in the MTB college campus in the First term and then in the second term it was shifted to the new building which was built near Ambika Niketan. Crisis of money became hurdles in the development of the school. Meanwhile majority members of managing committee donated some amount to build one classroom Moreover Surat People’s Bank also donated Rs. 3 lakh. The credit goes to Dr. Manubhai and Virendra Gandhi for the donation of Surat Peoples Bank. Smt. Shashikala Gajiwala donated Rs. 1 lakh And the amount used to build water tank. Dr. Manubhai Patel and Shri Gamanbhai Gandhi [ I.C. Gandhi silk mills] got donation for the SES of Rs. 3 lakh.once again Surat peoples Co.Op. Bank donated Rs. 2 Lakh.Shri Manojbhai Parekh played very good role. From June 1987 the Nusery classes started. In the year 1995-96 the inauguration of the hall was done by Hon-Justice Shri D. A. Desai. The Municipal Commissioner Shri S.R.Rao was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The flow of donation was continued. Shri Rameshbhai H. Luthra charitable Trust donated Rs. 8 Lakh for the hall. Through Motiben Charitable Trust Shri Kanubhai Patel donated Rs. 11 Lakh for the activities of the school. Second Vice Chairman Shri Dinkarrai Naik Played very good role to get both these donations. Shree Bhikhabhai Marfatia donated Rs. 15 lakh for 'Indrarshu' activity hall through the efforts by Shri Dilipbhai Marfatia. In the year 2000-2001 a Bhumi-Poojan' Ceremony for Skating Ring for outdoor games was done by the chairman of SES Shri Jamanadas Halatwala, The Skating Ring was inaugurated by Mr. Halatwala and a well-known industrialist Mr. C. R. Patil. All three buildings of school campus were linked with one another. As a result, the School got facility of two more rooms. Audio visual room and drawing room. Today all employees are qualified, active, Computer, Dance, Karate, Aerobics and Skating all activities are done in school. As per our school name R.S.M.Poonawala Experimental School, so many new experiments are done in our school, for the students over all personalitys.And with these new experiments and new chances in education system.our students make proud to the school. Mrs Pannaben Desai was appointed as the In-charge principal of the school.Dr.Dhirubhai Desai Principal B. Ed College then took great care and pain in the development and progress of the school.The School had run in the MTB College Campus in the first term and then in the second term it was shifted to the new building which was built near Ambika Niketan. From 1981 till 1985 both the sections, the English medium as well as the Gujarati medium, were functioning by the name of R S M Poonawala. In June 1985 the school started functioning under the present name ie. Shri Chandulal C. Shah Sarvajanik English Hhigh Sschool with a new motto “Towards Knowledge and Wisdom.” Within five years we reached such heights that we were considered as a gem in the crown of the Sarvajanik Education Society and were named among the prestigious schools of Surat. In 1987 we introduced the nursery classes in our school. As a novel and unique project computer science was introduced for the students of sixth and seventh in 1989 and in the same year we got the first prize in the district level science fair held in Surat. In 1990 we got the first prize at Gujarat state level science fair held at Gandhinagar. Computer science was introduced in standard fifth in 1992 and from 1994 in the whole of primary section. To conduct extracurricular activities the Luthra hall was built in 1996-1997. In the year 1986 in the secondary section i.e. std 8 to 10 there were 425 students. In the same year the school was awarded as the best school of the state and Pr. Mr. Amrutbhai Naik was awarded as the Best Principal. In the year 1987- 486 students were studying in the secondary section. That same year as a result of Dr. D.V. Desai' s great efforts permission was granted to start Higher Secondary Section std. XI both Science and General stream and the same year classes also started. "Bhumi Poojan" for building the most modern well-squipped laboratories was done by Mr. R.K.Desai. In the year 1992 on retirement of Principal Mr. Amrutbhai Naik, Mr. Devang R. Desai was appointed the principal of the Experimental School. In the year 1993-94 "Bhumi Poojan" of the auditorium the school complex was done by the Chairman of Sarv. Education Society Shri Govindjibhai Patel and a vast hall of area of 8000 sq. ft became ready for use. In the year 1995-96 the inauguration of the hall was done by Hon. Justice Shri D.A.Desai. The Municipal Commissioner Shri S.R. Rao was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. In the year 2000-2001 "Bhumi Poojan" ceremony for skating Ring for outdoor games was done by the Chairman of the Sarvajanik Education Society Shri Jamnadas Halatwala. The Skating Ring was inaugurated by Mr. Halatwala and a well-known industrialist Mr. C.R. Patil. In year 2002 the celebration of completion of second decade was done with great pomp. Principal Mr. Devang Desai was selected for 'Sardar Patel National & International Gujarat Gaurav Award for Education'. On the 6th Nov.2001 he was awarded by Gujarat Governor Shri Sundarsinh Bhandari, President Shri Dhirubhai Shah and Secretary Shri Ishwarsinh Makwana. In the year 2004 there were 15 classes from Playgroup to Senior K. G. and 28 classes from 1st to 7th Total there were 2525 Students in the primary section. In the year 2005 the principal Mrs. Ranjanben B. Desai retired. And From 2006 Mrs. Ashaben B. Desai was appointed as the principal of the Primary Section [ Gujarati Medium ] Exeperimental school. Gujarat Sahitya Sangam Ahmedabad and Antar Bhartiya Sahitya Bandhutva Manch,Rajasthan honoured the principal Mr. Devang R. Desai with "Shri Indukant Trivedi National Award as best Educationist". This honour was given in a grand ceremony by Shri Ramanbhai Pathak, Shri Prem Sharda, Ex MLA late Shri Ahesan Jaffery, Shri Amrutbhai Vadia and Shri Jayshreeben Thakar. International institute for Sanskritwahini, Chandara Foundation Bombay selected him as the best Principal for outstanding services in the field of Education, Culture and Society. In 1990 he got the ' Best Teacher Award' by Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad. The principal was appointed as a Committee member in the project "Gujarat in the direction of National Curriculum" for std 1 to 12. In a Talent Search Programme for text-book writing the article on "Moral Values oriented Education" written by the principal was selected by Gujarat Rajya Pathya Pustak Mandal. The school was also awarded as the Best Educational Institution by Ujas Magazine. Human Resources Department of The Central Government of India, New Delhi organizes a National level competition by N.T.S.T.C. Network of research projects in the field of Educational and Social Sciences Our school became The National Winner for successive three years. The School Science teacher Mrs Praharsha Mehta got got the Best Teacher-Guide award. Tusharbhai Varia also actively participated in the research projects. The Youth Festival is held by the Gujarat Government every year at different levels.The Championship Shield was achieved for successive six years by the school. In 2003 the construction had begun and on 27th February, 2004 the school building had been inaugurated by Mr. V.V. Augustine , the member of the Minority Commission of India, New Delhi. The first batch of Standard X appeared in the S.S.C. Board Examination in March 2004 and obtained 100 % result.
